Strawberry Fromage Pastries with Balsamic & Mint

Looking for a show-stopping pastry that's surprisingly easy to pull off? Sarah from @sunkissed_sarah on Instagram created these flaky, fruity, creamy puff pastries using our Strawberry Basil Fromage — and trust us, they deliver. Buttery puff pastry, a generous spread of creamy fromage blanc, fresh strawberries, and a drizzle of balsamic and vegan honey (or maple syrup) come together for something that tastes way fancier than the effort it takes to make. They're sweet, tangy, crunchy, and completely addictive. In Sarah's words: "These are a MUST-TRY if you are looking for something to wow your family or friends because they are just SO GOOD. The creaminess of the cheese paired with the crunchiness of the pastry and sweetness of strawberries cannot be matched, in my humble opinion."

Method

  1. Preheat your oven according to the puff pastry package directions.
  2. Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet. roll it our and and cut into 6 equal rectangles.
  3. Using a sharp knife, lightly score a smaller rectangle about half an inch from the edge of each pastry, being careful not to cut all the way through. Prick the inside rectangle all over with a fork.
  4. Spread a generous layer of Strawberry Basil Fromage inside the scored rectangle of each pastry.
  5. Arrange quartered strawberries on top of the fromage blanc.
  6. Brush the outer edges of each pastry with plant-based milk and sprinkle with sugar.
  7. Bake according to puff pastry package directions, until the pastries are puffed and golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and drizzle with maple syrup or vegan honey, balsamic glaze, and finish with fresh mint or basil.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!
