Give Back to the Animals this Veganuary

Veganuary is about so much more than just food—it’s about standing up for those who need us most. At Rebel Cheese, we’re passionate animal lovers who believe our daily choices matter. Every plant-based meal presents a chance to spark conversation about the realities of animal agriculture and inspire meaningful change. 

Here in Austin, TX, we are fortunate to have many local rescue organizations working hard to provide their residents with the care and support they need, and creating impactful connection between the animals and visiting humans. Here are a few incredible organizations to support this Veganuary and beyond:

• Central Texas Pig Rescue: Our amazing content creator Tracey –– yes, the person behind all of the delicious photos you see on our website –– is also one of the directors of the organization! CTPR rescues, cares for, and provides a safe haven and support for pigs, many of whom came from harmful environments, like agricultural farms, testing facilities, and other life-threatening situations. There are so many ways you can help, like by sponsoring a resident (become a virtual pig parent here!), making a donation, or even visiting and voluntering if you're in the Austin, TX area! • The House Rabbit Resource Network: Located in Pflugerville, the HRRN is another organization that holds a special place in the hearts of our Rebel Cheese family and Central Texas' animal welfare community, providing care for over 150 rabbits at a time. Our team member Kyle adopted two rabbits in 2017 and has experienced firsthand how life-changing it is to adopt these amazing animals. Today, he serves as HRRN’s board vice president! • Austin Farm Sanctuary : Local to us in the Austin, TX are, Austin Farm Sanctuary rescues farmed animals and provides a safe haven to more than 200 residents! AFS's mission is to build a create connection between people and farmed animals by raising awareness about factory farming and sharing the benefits of a vegan lifestyle.
